Global Knowledge Picks Myriad Media To Expand Training

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK - Digital media agency Myriad Media says it is working with Global Knowledge, a provider of IT education and enterprise training solutions to enhance Global Knowledge's existing interactive classroom offerings.

As a streaming media provider for Global Knowledge's Blended Learning Solutions and Self-Paced e-Learning offerings, Myriad Media says it helps deliver a concentrated multimedia effort for thousands of students around the world.

A key part of the new effort is a new method devised by Myriad using an interactive digital white board to create on-screen illustrations in real-time with an electric pen, the company says. These illustrations will be recorded to a computer hard drive using advanced screen capture software.

Global Knowledge instructors can now teach much like they would in a traditional classroom, but with the added benefits of interactive multimedia. This blending of traditional teaching tools and new technology allows e-Learning students to become fully immersed in the classroom experience like never before, the company says.

"Myriad Media's creative use of media technologies allows us to present a structured educational experience to engage the student while bringing the critical elements of the classroom directly to their desktops," Rhonda Harmon, vice president, worldwide content development for Global Knowledge, said in a statement. "Interactive CDs, videos, and streaming media are being used as a progressive way to effectively connect our real-world instructors with our self-paced e-Learning students."
